Sarah and Nick were home on a late November afternoon. Nick was helping Sarah during a frantic search for Xanax pills and cocaine that she had lost. Sarah believed that Nick had stolen the pills and cocaine.
Nearing the bathroom, Sarah grabbed Nick’s shirt collar, scratching at his neck and face, causing scratches on his cheek. Nick grabbed Sarah to stop the assault, and then called 911.
After police arrived and investigated, Sarah was arrested and charged with assault. While being escorted from the building, Sarah kicked the arresting officer’s left leg, causing redness and slight bruising.
Result: Sarah plead guilty to the assault charge. She received a conditional discharge and 12 months probation.
