On May 11, 2022, Gatineau police were patrolling a business area when they noticed a man urinating in public. Deciding to investigate, the police soon lost sight of the man, but spoke with some people they thought were with him. These people stated they did not know the individual but were told by him that he could not be seen by police. Soon after, the individual was located at the back of the property, who identified himself as Larry, who commented that his probation officer had advised his previous sentence was over. Further investigation showed that Larry was still subject to a court order. Larry was arrested, then released on a Promise to Appear.
Result: Larry entered a guilty plea and received a $500 fine. The sentence he received was tolerable to him considering he already had a criminal record and was not worth contesting.
