Jaques and Amanda were in an on and off relationship since February 2010, and have one child in common. In 2024, Amanda made a police report containing historic allegations of domestic violence dating back 14 years, including accusations that Jaques had thrown a coffee table on her and that he had grabbed her by the throat. This resulted in Jaques being charged with assault with a weapon and overcoming resistance by choking.
Outcome: Although the Crown initially wanted a jail sentence, they agreed, after a discussion with defence counsel, to accept a plea to the lesser charge of assault for a suspended sentence and probation. This meant Jaques did not serve any jail.
