On the morning of June 18th, police were in the vicinity of 140 Mississippi Drive due to an ongoing threat from an individual with a firearm. Shortly after the area was closed off, James had an interaction with Cst. Lorcas, who informed James he was free to depart the area but could not return until the police operation concluded, due to the ongoing public safety risk. James began questioning police authority, using vulgarities, demanding to be allowed back to his residence, and refusing to vacate the area. Before police could arrest him, James drove approximately 150 meters, then walked into the exclusion area. After a few hours, James was finally arrested when he returned to his abandoned vehicle. He was charged with obstruction/resisting a peace officer.

Result: James completed some anger management and then pleaded guilty for an absolute discharge (no criminal record, no probation).
