Charlie and Susan were in a relationship and living together. On an August afternoon, they were walking
together when they began to argue about trust issues in their relationship. Upon returning home, Susan
gave Charlie the house key to open the door. Still angry after opening the door, Charlie broke the key in
the lock, resulting in both the key and lock having to be replaced. The argument continued inside the
home, leading Susan to call her sister, who in turn called police. After a conversation with both parties,
police charged Charlie with mischief under $5000.

Result: As part of a deal, Charlie was expected to complete an anger management course. Upon
successfully completing the course, the charge against Charlie was withdrawn.
