Liquor Licence

Brian is the owner of a local restaurant. During a busy December evening, the local minors hockey team attended the restaurant for a celebration. At some point, a complaint involving underage drinking was made to the Liquor Licensing Board. During an investigation, the Board’s investigator spoke with restaurant employees and team members in attendance. It was determined that alcohol was consumed by at least two underage players, and that no effort was made to ensure they were of legal age to purchase or consume alcohol.

Result: The underage drinking in the restaurant was not disputed. In discussions with the Licencing Board, it was agreed that the restaurant would receive a 30 day suspension of its liquor license, with the suspension to be in effect during the slower business month of January.
