Facts: Mary and Dan were in the process of splitting their possessions following an 18 year marriage. They had agreed that two particular paintings would be split up. However, Dan had taken both and placed them in his trailer outside the home.
Mary became very upset that the paintings had been removed. She began taking more pictures off the wall in retaliation. As the altercation escalated she smashed two of these frames. The cost of the damage was approximately $300.
She was charged with one count of mischief under $5,000 and released on a promise to appear.
Results: Mary entered a peace bond recognizance to stay away from Dan for a period of 12 months. Charges were withdrawn.
