While in a Marshall store on Bank Street, Jennifer was observed opening items and tearing off packaging and placing items in her tote bag. Police were contacted and arrived while Jennifer was still in the store, and she was arrested on site. The concealed items were found in her tote and confirmed by store staff as their property. A diversion program was offered on scene but refused. Jennifer was charged with one count of theft under $5000 and released on an undertaking.
Result: We were able to negotiate a withdrawal of charges after the client completed a diversion program. She avoided a criminal record and was pleased with the result.
