In the early hours of December 17th, police responded to a 911 call regarding an injured youth who was bleeding from several injuries. The victim had been in communication with a female for the week prior, who conspired with Ahmed to set him up.
Shortly after stopping in the parking lot of Brewer Park, a dark vehicle parked behind the victim’s vehicle and several masked individuals exited. After unlocking the passenger door, these individuals began to attack the victim, who was overwhelmed while attempting to fight back. The victim managed to flee after being cut numerous times and being robbed of his cell phone and Nike shoes.
Outcome: Ahmed was a youth (under 18). We were hired after the client pleaded guilty. We gathered many documents to support the client and he had a bright future. He previously has no criminal record and came from a supportive family. However, the offence was just too serious. Since he was a youth, his sentencing was governed by the Youth Criminal Justice Act. He was sentenced to 90 days in open custody (group home) and two years of probation.
