For a period of time, Sara was in hospital to attend to medical issues. During this time, she had asked Linda to care for her dogs. Upon discharge from the hospital, Sara contacted the police, claiming she that Linda refused to return her dogs unless she was paid for the time spent caring for them. Police attended to obtain the dogs but claimed that one was still not returned and so Rachelle with theft under $5000.
Outcome: After further discussion with the Crown attorney, the charges were eventually stayed.
