On November 18, 2024, Conrad entered Holy Redeemer Parish. He engaged in a brief conversation with the church coordinator before picking up a statue and shaking it. When asked to stop, Conrad started shouting and demonstrating aggressive behavior before ripping an envelope and pushing around chairs. Police later found him sitting in the driver’s seat of a vehicle down the road. Initially, grounds were developed for an apprehension under the Mental Health Act, but it was later determined that his behaviour may have been the result of consuming alcohol, which was detected on his breath. Conrad was arrested for impaired operation of a motor vehicle.
Outcome: Initially, the Crown wanted Conrad to accept a plea to impaired operation, which would have meant an automatic criminal record. Instead, Conrad was able to resolve his charges for a plea to dangerous driving and a discharge, which meant that he was able to avoid a criminal record.
