The former fire chief of Gananoque and the Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands has pleaded guilty of defrauding the municipalities of more than $65,000 over a four-year period.
His lawyer, Armoured Suits Ottawa’s Joshua Clarke, has noted that Bennett has “agreed to pay back the $45,000 that he took from the town and township and the money is in trust”.
