In September 2021, while representing himself, Jon was convicted of charges under the CDSA (drug offence), for which he received a suspended sentence (criminal record) and 12 months supervised probation. The probation officer then referred Jon to the Salvation Army Community Service Order Program to complete 75 volunteer hours. Of this, only 11.25 volunteer hours were completed. Jon was subsequently charged with failure to comply with probation.
Result: After negotiations with the Crown Attorney, we arranged it so that Jon was able to complete the hours in exchange for a withdrawal of the breach of probation charge.
